"If you really want to learn to lean on God and see His mighty power displayed across cultural barriers while having a ridiculous amount of fun, you should probably sign up [for a short-term trip]!"
"God is proving to be the constant that He is in the world. It is encouraging to hear how He is moving in the Muslim world."

"The exposure you get through short-term service is incredible. To throw oneself into a world ignorantly is sometimes the wisest thing you can do."
"As donors, we are excited by the strategic impact Frontiers is having in fulfilling the Great Commission among Muslims, and we want a greater sense of ownership."
"Frontiers' ministry to people that live in 'closed' countries excites me! Knowing that they have NGOs [nonprofits] trained and dedicated to reach these people makes Frontiers quite valuable."

"Because Frontiers has a proven track record of engaging the Muslim world with integrity and evangelical effectiveness, we are joyous partners in prayer and sharing of finances."
"Frontiers has our enthusiastic support (prayer and finances) for taking the Good News to Muslims. We are so thankful for the many God is calling to go and who are saying, 'Yes!'"

Praying for Frontiers Singles Overseas

Working in the Muslim world as a single has some distinct advantages and disadvantages. Singles are often able to learn the local language more quickly than their married teammates, as they typically have more free time and sometimes live with Muslim roommates. They also tend to have much more time to build relationships with Muslims, especially Muslim singles of the same gender.Praying for Singles

However, Muslims often view singles as somewhat deficient, so the question, “Why aren’t you married yet?” comes up often. Single women may receive multiple proposals, while single men receive offers from men to match them with local women.

Because singles tend to stand out in Muslim societies, they have lots opportunities to show people that Jesus is their source of security and love, rather than marriage and children. As you pray for single workers abroad, please pray for them by name, using Scripture, in a manner as below.

Pray:

  • 2 Timothy 2:22 – “I pray for Luke to flee from youthful lusts; and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
  • Philippians 2:5-8 – “Let this mind be in Kim which was also in Christ Jesus…”
  • Singles can feel especially lonely and left out when their teams are filled with mostly married couples. Ask God to grant married team members and team leaders sensitivity to the relational needs of their single teammates, and insight to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of single teammates, so the team reflects the beauty of Christ’s Body serving one another.
