Praying for Frontiers Overseas Members

Thanks for your desire to intercede in prayer for Frontiers families and singles overseas. Your prayers are crucial to their adjustment and fruitfulness. As you lift up their needs and desires to God, keep in mind:

• Most Frontiers overseas workers are dealing with the challenge of learning a new language or two, which, until they master fluency, can be very humbling and frustrating as they are limited in their ability to communicate what is on their hearts.

  Overseas workers benefit from being backed by powerful prayer in the States.

• Most Frontiers overseas team members are full-time employees or students, in addition to learning the language and culture, ministering to their Muslim friends, and for many, nurturing their marriage and family. Balancing all these demands requires God’s wisdom and peace.
• Sicknesses and spiritual attacks intensify for Frontiers workers as they enter areas where no or few fellowships of believers have ever existed.

Here are a few ways we suggest you pray:

Use Ephesians 6:11-18 to pray for workers you know by name. For instance, “I pray that Jake and Cecilia will put on the whole armor of God today, that they may be able to stand against the scheming of the devil…”

Pray Jesus’ prayer on behalf of His disciples and others who would believe through them, found in John 17: 15-26. “Sanctify Bill and Jenny by Your truth. Your word is truth…”

Ask God to manifest the fruit of the Spirit in and through Frontiers teams, using Galatians 5:22-25: “I pray for Bob and Sue’s team to bear the fruit of the Spirit: love…”
