"Because Frontiers has a proven track record of engaging the Muslim world with integrity and evangelical effectiveness, we are joyous partners in prayer and sharing of finances."
"Frontiers has our enthusiastic support (prayer and finances) for taking the Good News to Muslims. We are so thankful for the many God is calling to go and who are saying, 'Yes!'"

GAP Teams : Your Questions Answered

"I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land…." Ezekiel 22:30

What are GAP teams?

One of the best ways to invite Muslims into the blessings of Jesus is to live among them in their homelands. Currently, the need is great because Muslims by the hundreds of millions live beyond the reach of believers who could share their hope in Jesus with them.GAP

Do you think God may be calling you to stand in the gap in one of these unengaged areas? Are you praying about long-term service overseas for your future? Could you use more training and a chance to test yourself? GAP teams offer you those opportunities: get trained, live the life, see the options, find your place.

For six to twelve months, GAP teams experience what a life of sharing your faith in the Muslim world is really like. This hands-on training will prepare you for living long-term in a Muslim community.

What do GAP teams do?

GAP team members in the Gulf serve local communities of Muslims, befriending those they meet in their neighborhood and in the workplace. GAP team members model godly teamwork and good works while serving others and sharing Christ in new friendships.

During your time in GAP, opportunities could include teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), volunteering at local hospitals, coaching local sports' teams or using videography and photojournalism to bless local communities.

If God leads you to stay in the Muslim world long-term, you will find that there are growing needs for workers with education and professional experience in engineering, finance, agriculture, education, business management and information technology, to name a few.

What about training, coaching, and oversight?

The GAP Program offers one of the best training experiences available to make sure you are prepared to thrive in the Gulf. Six weeks of training will equip you and your team for greater spiritual growth, Arabic language learning, team-building, establishing a professional identity, and cultural adaptation.

GAP staff will coach you in raising financial support for your training, travel and living expenses. They will also provide support services while you are on the field, plus debriefing at the conclusion of your term.

On the field you and your team will learn the ropes of team life, establishing new communities of Jesus-followers, and utilizing work skills as you venture into unengaged areas. You will gain wisdom from the experiences of previous teams and long-term workers. Regular visa-renewal trips outside the country will allow you to visit other Gulf countries, meet other workers and make job and team connections for future long-term involvement.

Is GAP right for you?

If you have a growing passion to see Jesus honored among Muslim people and are seeking God’s confirmation of His calling in your life, a six to twelve month GAP team may be a great fit for you!

GAP team members can best be described as:

  • team-oriented,
  • flexible,
  • courageous,
  • radically biblical,
  • eager for coaching,
  • enthusiastic about challenging work in tough places
